ADP publishes the 2011 edition of the HR Atlas "Europe at work"
08/22/2011
Leading provider in human resources and payroll services, ADP has published a new edition of the "Europe at Work" Atlas. This work provides an overview of the respective economic and social factors of 30 European countries.
Now that the benchmark has become a must-have instrument, the "Europe at Work" Atlas is the invaluable tool for discovery and thought for multinationals’ HR managers as well as managers of local companies who want to compare their social and economic environment with that of other countries in Europe in terms of legislation, training, labor costs and productivity.
In addition to data from Hungary, which this issue presents for the first time, the new edition of the "Europe at Work" Atlas has some surprises in store for its readers, among them:
• In Lithuania, the employment rate of women is higher than that of men
• In the Netherlands, 75 % of women in the workforce work part time
• Italy is the country with the largest number of companies
• In Bulgaria, the hourly cost of labor is 2.42 €
• In Denmark, the hourly cost is 34.82 €
• For the European worker, the average work week is 40.5 hours
• Germany, the U.K. and France account for 45 % of employees in Europe
To produce this Atlas, ADP, which provides services for companies in 67 around the world, has combined its own international expertise in the domain of human resources with a wealth of data delivered by many organizations, including Eurostat and the OECD.
First published in 2006, the "Europe at Work" Atlas is up dated each year in an interactive version on ADP’s internet site (www.atlas.adp.com). A paper-based version of the 2011 edition is also available.
